Techy Toolbox provides three useful utilities for Techys who work in the IT industry.

1. IP Subnet Calculator

The IP subnet calculator allows you to input an IP address and automatically work out the subnet information regarding the IP address. You can then modify this by changing the subnet mask length so that you reach your desired parameters.

The subnet calculator is Classful in terms of the IP address ranges used. This means you cannot subnet a IP address lower than its base subnet mask, i.e. a Class C address cannot have a subnet mask less than 24 bit.

Class A: 1.0.0.0 - 127.0.0.0
Class B: 128.0.0.0 - 191.0.0.0
Class C: 192.0.0.0 - 223.0.0.0

Private address ranges:
10.0.0.0/8 (Class A)
172.16.0.0/12 (Class B)
192.168.0.0/16 (Class C)

2. File Size Convertor

The file size convertor allows you to enter a file size and convert it to other file size units (e.g. Bytes, Megabytes) automatically.

3. File Transfer Calculator

Enter a file size into the file size calculator and the file transfer calculator will automatically show the amount of time it will take to transfer the file over various speed connections (please note this is only approximate and does not allow for TCP headers, signalling overhead, etc.).
